Information for Delegates

We are honored to welcome delegates from various colleges, universities, and learned societies to Loyola University New Orleans on November 9 & 10 for the inauguration of Xavier Cole as the 18th president of Loyola University New Orleans.

As you prepare to join us for this special event, the information below may be helpful.

Location/Map

Inauguration activities take place on Loyola’s main campus at 6363 St. Charles Avenue.

Parking

Complimentary parking for delegates will be available in the West Road Garage, which is accessed via
St. Charles Avenue.  Public Safety personnel will be there to direct drivers.

Inaugural Missioning Mass

Delegates are invited to join the Loyola community for the Inaugural Missioning Mass on Thursday, November 9 at 12:15 p.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church.  The Mass does not feature an academic procession.

Check-In for Inauguration Ceremony

Delegates may check -in on the porch of the J. Edgar and Louise S. Monroe Library, located directly across the quad from the West Road Garage, on Friday, November 10 beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Upon check-in, delegates will directed to the robing area on the first floor of the Monroe Library where refreshments and a secure room for storing personal belongings during the ceremony will also be available.

Note: In the event of rain, robing will take place in Marquette Hall.  An email notification will be sent out if the rain plan is implemented.

Academic Attire

All delegates in the academic procession are expected to wear academic attire and are responsible for providing their own academic regalia.

Academic Procession

The procession will begin forming at 2:30 p.m. The Inauguration ceremony begins at 3 p.m. and is expected to conclude by 4:15 p.m.

Inauguration Reception

All delegates are invited to a reception on campus immediately following the ceremony in the Palm Court.

1912 Society Inauguration Dinner

Following the inauguration reception, delegates are welcome to join us for an evening of celebration and fellowship at the 1912 Society Inauguration Dinner as we welcome President Cole to Loyola University New Orleans.

Tickets are required for this event and may be purchased at cp009x.com/1912 

Confirmation

Delegates will receive confirmation and instructions via email prior to inauguration.
